ArtiActive

Joint Flexibility and Mobility in General

ArtiActive

ArtiActive® is a food supplement in coated tablets or powder sachets to be diluted in water, which contains glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), collagen, hyaluronic acid, quercetin, silicon and bromelain.

It is designed to preserve the integrity of bone cartilage, slow down joint degeneration and ensure good mobility. It helps maintain joint and tendon flexibility.

Joint manifestations such as tenderness or stiffness are generally progressive. They can vary according to gender and other risk factors and can increase with age. They can be accelerated by severe or repetitive trauma, incorrect positions and some professional activities.

Joint health

The joints are the areas of the body that allow movement between different parts of the skeleton and are connected by a structure called the joint capsule.

To facilitate this movement, there is articular cartilage, which covers the bones, preventing wear and tear on the bone ends and preventing more serious damage in the event of falls or impacts.

In addition, on the inside of the joints, more specifically within the joint capsule, there is a liquid produced by the synovial membrane that also plays a crucial role.

To ensure the proper functioning of the entire bone structure and its joints, it is necessary to rely on the support of the muscles and tendons that are close to the articular surfaces.

Taking care of the joints is essential to ensure good mobility and to be able to make the most varied movements: walking, sitting, standing, etc.

To avoid joint disease, it is essential to focus on prevention and avoid certain risk factors. To do this, we recommend the following

  • Adopt a balanced and healthy diet;
  • Adopt correct body posture;
  • Regularly practicing physical activity and taking advice on the most suitable exercises.

What are the symptoms of changes in joint health?

  • Reduced range of motion
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Muscle strains
  • Joint pain
  • Morning stiffness
  • Swelling
  • Ligament ruptures
  • Instability
  • Sprains
  • Creaking joints
  • Overweight

Main types of joint diseases

Arthritis

Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints. It encompasses more than 100 different rheumatic diseases and related conditions that affect the joints and surrounding tissues. Inflammatory arthritis is part of a group of diseases that affect the immune system, so the body’s defense systems attack the body’s own tissues rather than microorganisms or external substances. These conditions are known as autoimmune diseases.

It corresponds to an inflammatory joint process characterized by the presence of joint effusion and/or pain on movement, heat, redness and functional limitation. In general, its signs and symptoms last up to six weeks. They can affect just one joint (monoarthritis), less than five (oligoarthritis) or more than five (polyarthritis).

Generally speaking, the cause is unknown, with inflammatory or autoimmune factors thought to be at the root. The role of genetics has not yet been clarified.

When the inflammatory process takes place, chemical substances are released that reach various tissues. This release tends to increase blood flow in the affected area and can cause heat and redness. The associated swelling can stimulate certain nerves, causing pain.

  • Joint pain
  • Swelling
  • Redness
  • Heat in the affected joints
  • Stiffness, especially in the morning
  • Can affect multiple joints

Arthrosis

Arthrosis, also known as osteoarthritis, is a degenerative joint disease that results from wear and tear of the articular cartilage. It is one of a number of rheumatic diseases and is by far the most common. It is a pathology of a degenerative nature that involves the entire joint and tends to occur with age. Arthrosis is not synonymous with joint ageing (there are elderly people without arthrosis and young adults with this disease), although it is more common in older people who have naturally had more years to wear out their joints.

AgeingArticular cartilage wears down naturally over time.

Excessive useRepetitive activities or excess weight can accelerate wear and tear.

Trauma: Joint injuries can predispose to the development of arthrosis.

GeneticsHereditary factors can increase predisposition to arthrosis.

  • Joint pain, aggravated by movement
  • Stiffness after periods of inactivity or when waking up
  • Decreased flexibility
  • Creaking or popping sensation in the joints
  • Mild swelling in some situations

Arthritis and arthrosis are different conditions that affect the joints, although both involve pain and mobility problems. Arthritis is primarily an inflammation of the joints, while arthrosis is a degenerative condition that results from wear and tear of the joint cartilage. Arthritis can be caused by a variety of factors, including autoimmune, infectious and metabolic. Arthritis is usually caused by ageing and mechanical wear and tear. Both can cause pain and stiffness, but arthritis often involves significant inflammation, while arthrosis is more related to wear and tear and can involve a “grinding” sensation. Understanding these differences is crucial for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Who is prone to changes in joint health and how does ArtiActive® help?

Patients with arthritis or arthrosis, medical conditions characterized by inflammation and degeneration of the joints: ArtiActive® promotes pain relief, reduction of inflammation and slowing down the progress of the disease.

Elderly people: As we get older, it is common for joints to wear out and become more susceptible to problems such as arthritis. ArtiActive® helps to improve mobility, reduce pain and maintain joint health.

Athletes and active people: Individuals who practice sports or intense physical activities are often subject to joint injuries. ArtiActive® helps recover from injuries and maintain joint health.

People with joint injuries: Injuries such as sprains, strains or torn ligaments can damage joint health in the short or long term. ArtiActive® aids recovery and prevents future complications.

People who are overweight or obese: Excess weight puts extra pressure on the joints, increasing the risk of developing problems such as osteoarthritis. ArtiActive® helps to manage pain and improve joint function.

People with autoimmune diseases: Conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis are caused by the immune system itself, with repercussions on joint health. ArtiActive® suppresses the immune response and reduces inflammation in the joints.

An advanced formulation for joint flexibility, which provides pain support and general mobility:

Glucosamine sulphate is a precursor in the synthesis of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans, essential components of the extracellular matrix of the joints. It improves the structural integrity of articular cartilage and reduces pain.

Chondroitin is an important component of cartilage, providing elasticity and strength. It protects and repairs articular cartilage, reducing degradation caused by inflammatory processes.

MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is necessary for the formation of connective tissues, including cartilage, tendons and ligaments. It reduces inflammation and joint pain and promotes the repair and regeneration of connective tissue.

Collagen is an abundant structural protein found in cartilage, tendons and ligaments. Marine collagen provides the amino acids necessary for the synthesis of new collagen, promoting joint health and integrity, as well as aiding recovery from injuries.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the synovial fluid in the joints, which acts as a lubricant and shock absorber. It improves the viscosity of the synovial fluid, reducing friction and wear in the joints, as well as promoting hydration of the cartilage.

Quercetin is a flavonoid with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It reduces inflammation in the joints by decreasing the production of inflammatory mediators and protecting the joint tissue against oxidative damage.

It is an important mineral for the synthesis of collagen and elastin, proteins that provide strength and elasticity to connective tissues, including cartilage. It strengthens and regenerates the structure of cartilage, contributing to joint health.

It is a proteolytic enzyme known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It reduces inflammation in the joints, relieves pain and promotes recovery from joint injuries.
